When providing British Sign Language Interpreters, Language Service Professionals, Trainers and Consultants, we adhere to rigorous standards. We recognise a nationally agreed framework and follow a Code of Practice, which govern the way we operate. Words are translated into practice at every level within the organisation by means of a Quality Assurance Policy. We closely monitor our provision with the use of performance indicators, a feedback system and complaints procedure.
Our British Sign Language Interpreters are regulated by the Council for the Advancement of Communication with Deaf People (CACDP) – Independent Registration Panel (IRP) and/or the Association of Sign Language Interpreters (ASLI). They may also be a member of Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI). They have been CRB checked at ‘Enhanced’ level and hold individual Professional Indemnity insurance.
Language Service Professionals (LSP) are registered with CACDP and may be a member of the Association of Verbatim Speech to Text Reporters, Association of Lipspeakers or Association of Notetakers . They have been CRB checks and hold individual Professional Indemnity insurance.
By implementing best practice and constantly improving provision we aim to be an exemplar.
Agency Standards
Just Communication Ltd is a Corporate Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting. We are bound by the Code of Practice for Corporate Members.
We support the Agency Steering Group, a body established to promote best practice in the provision of British Sign Language / English Interpreters and other Language Support Professionals. They have identified key criteria and set minimum standards which all members must meet. We have agreed to and exceed the ‘Standards for Agencies’.

Each employed, standby or freelance provider is registered with the appropriate professional body. These organisations include:

Insurance
Just Communication Ltd holds Corporate Professional Indemnity Insurance to the value of £2,000,000.
Individual BSL/English Interpreters hold Professional Indemnity Insurance to the value of £500,000.
Other Language Support Professional hold varying levels of Professional Indemnity Insurance, please contact Customer Services for more information.
We also hold Employers Liability insurance and Public Liability insurance.
CRB Checks
All British Sign Language / English Interpreters have been CRB check to Enhanced level.
